We will do everything possible to make your stay most enjoyable. To ensure you will have a very pleasant experience at Inn at the Lake Bed and Breakfast, we have established the following policies. Please take a few minutes to review them, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.


Booking Policies

Room rates include double occupancy and a full breakfast.

Prices may vary from outdated quotes on other websites, and only rates as published on www.innatthelake.com are guaranteed.

A 50% deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time of your reservation. The remaining balance will be charged to your card the day of your arrival.

All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card regardless of how the final payment will be made. We accept Master Card, Visa, American Express and Gift Certificates. We do not accept personal checks.

If you are redeeming a Inn at the Lake gift certificate please let us know when you make your reservation. In the event of a no-show or late cancellation, the gift certificate will be applied and any remaining balance charged to your card. Gift certificates expire one year from date of issue. Any balance left on the certificate is forfeited if not used by the expiration date and no refunds will be issued.

Whole house rentals must be paid in full 30 days in advance.

We love and appreciate our active duty and veterans and want to thank them by offering a 10% military discount. This discount applies to our regular-priced rates. 

We also love and respect seniors! 60 and older get a 10% discount on our regular rates.

Only one active discount or promotion can be applied at a time.


Check In/Out

Check in is between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Arrangements for late arrivals should be made in advance with the Innkeeper. Early arrivals are discouraged since our small staff is busy turning the rooms over from the previous night to insure everything is ready for your check-in at 3:00 pm. Please, no early drop-off of bags or in-room items without prior permission.

Checkout time is at 11:00 a.m.

Parking prior to check in can be arranged with the Inn Keepers ahead of time if you are receiving a ride back to the Inn after an event such as a wedding at a nearby venue.

Each room includes one free parking space in our front courtyard parking area. Parking is restricted to paying guests of the Inn only please. We have limited parking for 5 guest vehicles only.



Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a hotel reservation. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a room. For this reason we uphold a strict cancellation policy:

  • Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of their actual arrival or departure date.

  • No-shows are responsible for full payment of their entire reservation.

  • Should you cancel outside of 48 hours prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded. We try to avoid charging any re-booking fees because we hate that stuff! In exchange we ask for prompt notice when you discover you need to cancel so we can book the room to another guest.

  • Cancellations (including changes) made 48 hours or less prior to your scheduled arrival forfeit the 50% deposit and if the room is unable to be re-booked, the full reservation value will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of making the reservation. Any and all rescheduled reservations will require the full financial payment by the Guest, and the deposit is not transferable to another stay. In the event of extreme circumstances please contact us to see what we can work out.

  • Individual guests within a group/whole house booking are subject to the terms defined for a whole house rental. If the number of rooms drops below five from a rental that originates as a whole house rental, the group's reservation is still subject to the terms of a whole house booking.

30 DAYS NOTICE (or more) of cancellation is required for refund of deposit for Whole House Rentals. Cancellations before 15 days will forfeit their 50% deposit. Cancellations less than 15 days notice will be charged the entire cost of the reserved stay. (subject to Cancellation/Rebooking Fees.)


Guests, Children and Pets

We cater to the comfort, privacy and security of our registered guests. Guest visitors are only permitted on the property with prior Inn Keeper approval. If you would like to have any non-registered guests join you for breakfast there is an additional charge of $20 per person, and 12-hour advance notice to the Innkeeper is required.

The Inn has a maximum occupancy of 12 guests total. We cannot bend this rule and it is strictly enforced.

Persons not staying overnight at the Inn are permitted in the house with permission from the Innkeepers only (non-staying guests count toward occupancy limit and cannot enter if the occupancy limit is reached with paying guests).

We do not have extra parking for non-paying guests.

Inn at the Lake is regarded as a quiet escape and romantic getaway for most of our guests, and we work hard to foster that environment. Therefore, it is not an appropriate place for children.

We are able to accommodate guest pets in the Island Suite which has a private outside entrance and easy access to the front yard. (Pet clean-up bags provided free of charge on request.) No pets over 25lbs. please. A $25 deep cleaning fee/per pet will be added to your bill. We lovc dogs but no fur babies in the main house please. There is access to the back deck and lake using side paths on each side of the Inn. We are happy to provide some extra towels if they want to enjoy the lake!


Smoking, candles, and incense

For the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we do not allow smoking or incense/candle burning in any of our guest rooms. (We know, no fun, but it’s state law.) guests smoking in the house will be charged a $250 fee to return any room to non-smoking status. We try to provide LED candles in the larger suites.

Guests who wish to smoke may do so outside on our lovely deck or outside on our property only please. The Mountain Suite has a private balcony which is ok as well. We are happy to provide ashtrays which are available on request. We ask that guests are considerate about other guests and our neighbors while enjoying their smoking activities.


Alcoholic Beverages

The Inn at the Lake does not hold a license to resell alcoholic beverages. Guests may bring their own, but for the safety and comfort of all of our guests, please drink responsibly. The Inn at the Lake and/or employees will not be held responsible for any incidents. We reserve the right to remove guests who refuse to cooperate without refund.


Property Issues

Any damages, stolen items, or broken items occurring during the stay will be the full financial responsibility of the guest, including anyone traveling with the guest. Any special clean-up resulting in damages caused by the guests will be charged to the credit card. Charges may need to be applied after guest departure as deemed necessary by the Owner/Innkeeper.

Robe replacement cost is $125 and towel replacement cost is $25.

Please report all spills and/or damages to the Innkeeper promptly. Usually we can clean it up before any damage is done if we get to it when the spill is fresh.


Owner's Rights

The Inn at the Lake is privately owned and operated. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not be responsible for guest accidents or injury, or for the loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind. We do not have a Life Guard on duty. Keys to room door locks are provided to guests for their personal use.
